Khmer New Year(ពិធីបុណ្យចូលឆ្នាំខ្មែរ) which usually falls on April 13th or 14th is the end of the harvesting season, when farmers enjoy the fruits of their labor before the rainy season begins. Khmers living abroad may choose to celebrate during a weekend rather than just specifically April 13 through 15th. Moreover, it is a Khmer cultural ceremony which follows by Khmer people since a long time ago. University of Puthisastra would like to carry out Khmer New Year in UP campus in order to strengthen Khmer culture.
