This course is designed for new or experienced healthcare personnel who intend to work or are presently working in healthcare industry

To provide participants with a good understanding of biomedical equipment principles, applications (usage) and maintenance procedures as applied to healthcare industries such as hospitals, medical equipment manufacturing, servicing & sales companies and medical research Centre’s.

 This course covers introductions and practical equipment aspects of the following:

  2. Defibrillators
  3. Patient Monitor
  4. Infusion Devices
  5. Baby Incubators
  6. Blood Pressure Monitoring
  7. Fetal Monitoring
  8. Pulse Oximeter

Course Outcome

By the end of the course the participants will be able to:

  • Describe the operating principles of a wide range of biomedical equipment
  • Perform tests to assess the performance and safety of such equipment
  • Assess possible hazards associated with the use and maintenance of biomedical equipment and describe measures for minimizing such risks
  • Perform preventative maintenance and functional checks on the equipment covered during the training period

Eligibility

* Degree/Diploma in Electronics, Medicine, and Hospital Administration and any relevant discipline in Healthcare 

* Any hospital staff responsible for operation, maintenance and management of medical equipment
