Introduction

This course will provide excellent foundation for healthcare professionals associated with maintenance and repair of cardiovascular equipment.

Aim

To provide participants the knowledge and practical exposure needed to perform basic and complex repair servicing on a wide range of cardiovascular equipment. This course is also aimed to provide participants the techniques and standards necessary to perform Quality Assurance Test using relevant Test Equipment.

Course Content

This course covers introductions and practical equipment aspects of the following:

  1. ECG
  2. Defibrillator and AED
  3. Blood Pressure Monitor
  4. Patient Monitor
  5. Pulse Oximeter

Course Outcome

  • By the end of the course the participants will be able to:
  • Describe electrocardiography (ECG) and its physiology
  • Describe Defibrillators and its applications
  • Describe the physiology of blood pressure and pulse oximetry monitoring
  • List common technical problems associated with cardiovascular equipment
  • Carry out inspection, testing, fault finding, maintenance and repair of cardiovascular equipment

Eligibility:

* Degree/Diploma in Electronics, Medicine, and Hospital Administration and any relevant discipline in Healthcare 

* Any hospital staff responsible for operation, maintenance and management of medical equipment
