7 Years, Four Phases
From foundational sciences to full clinical practice, the DDS programme builds competence in four progressive phases.
Anatomy, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and physics — the foundational sciences.
Microbiology, oral biology, dental pathology, and conservative dentistry.
Orthodontics, periodontics, paediatric dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, and implantology.
Supervised internship, thesis completion, and practice management training.

UP combines a contemporary curriculum with Cambodia's national requirements, training graduates in a 19-chair teaching hospital — the country's largest student dental hospital.
UP is the only dental school in Cambodia with a dental microscope, alongside Belmont chairs from Japan and a Panex cephalometric X-ray machine from Italy.
Over half of senior students participate in international exchanges or conferences each year, including the Sakura Science Exchange to Japan and Rotary-sponsored programmes to Taiwan.
UP hosts visiting academics including Prof. Andrew Sandham (retired Dean, James Cook University), Prof. Rosnah Binti Zain (Dean, MAHSA University), and Dr. Steven Cohn, specialist Australian endodontist.
Students deliver oral health outreach in schools, prisons, and underserved communities, including annual World Oral Health Day initiatives.
Staff and students publish in international journals each year, with dedicated expert thesis supervision provided across Years 6 and 7.
UP dental graduates go on to lead the profession nationally — including a UP lecturer elected President of the Cambodian Dental Association.
